Under the management of businessman Joseph Bistritzky's family, Seasons will be reopening their 12,000-square-foot location in Scarsdale, in time for Passover. Other openings are planned in Clifton, Lakewood, Lawrence and Queens,
The Scarsdale location will reopen at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 in the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center on Wilmot Road.
The new location will seem supersized to shoppers, with a new state-of-the-art kitchen and additional food production facilities. The new kitchens will allow for the production of food without the use of dairy or meat equipment, thus providing more options for shoppers.
“Seasons is welcoming the Scarsdale community to a renovated store with a completely new type of shopping experience,” David Gellman, the general manager of Seasons Scarsdale said. “Once containing only seven doors, the freezer aisle is now 36 doors long. A dairy section once spanning only 6 feet is now 72 feet long. Our renovations were driven from our commitment to provide more family value options for our customers.”
Seasons once had national ambitions, but at the time of the bankruptcy filing, they were reportedly more than $40 million in debt. Now, they plan to test the waters in the New York City area before expanding.
“Each member of our family brings a different strength to our team. Together, we have years of familiarity with kosher food manufacturing and distribution,” Bistritzky said when announcing the relaunch. We have redeveloped the operational side of many businesses, by forming and training managerial teams to have a keen understanding of community relations and family interface.
“It is an honor to serve the Jewish communities of Scarsdale, Clifton, Lakewood, Lawrence and Queens. We look forward to welcoming all customers, both old and new, as we reopen our Scarsdale location and elevate the shopping experiences in all five locations in the region.”
